Every fall over 100 students from all over the Triad gather for our annual Fall Retreat.  This is a great way to get to know some new friends and to connect with God.  There are 3 main meetings featuring fun, worship, and devotional talks.  That's just the tip of the iceberg though. Encounter is our annual winter conference.  This is a region wide event, with over 1,300 college students from 5 states attending.  And guess where it's held...right here in the Triad at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.  It takes place over winter break from Dec. 28th to Jan. 1st.  It features fantastic Bible teaching from national speakers, practical breakout seminars taught by staff, an awesome worship band, prayer journey, art expression room, bookstore, coffee house, a huge New Years dance party, and a day of outreach to the local community.  We love hosting the conference here and actually seeing how the conference changes the lives of both our students and those in our community.  Many students raise support, ask for the money as a Christmas gift, or actually work and save to pay for the conference.  This is practically a must attend event if you enjoy encountering the Lord in community with friends!

We have a ministry partnership with New York City.  So every spring break we attend a conference in the "Big Apple."  Last year we had 50 students attend.  Everyone stays in a hostel to keep costs down, but there's plenty of other things to do and see.  Students enjoy watching a Broadway musical, sight seeing, shopping, going to museums, riding the subway, and going to games at Madison Square Garden.  However, we are there to do ministry.  New Yorkers are surprisingly open and love to dialogue about spiritual things.  This trip provides great, practical training and ministry experience on a variety of college campuses.  Students always come away exhausted but rewarded with experience, excitement, and a heart for NYC.
